Collaboratively Crafted: The Official Amplifier for Arashi
This amplifier is born from collaboration with niuniu AUDIO, the name draws inspiration from the dichotomy of science and art, symbolized in the evolution of letters N (niuniu) and H (Hi-End). This amplifier embodies the convergence of rational design and emotional musicality, invoking thought and harmony in audio reproduction.
The design pays homage to Beethoven's "Waldstein" Piano Sonata No. 21, Op. 53, aiming to replicate its sense of awakening and clarity.
The v53 pairs perfectly with DUNU's Flagship Headphone, the Arashi.
Simplicity and Modernism
Outstanding design, showcased through DUNU's meticulous craftsmanship and quality. The chassis is precision-crafted from a single block of 6063 aluminum alloy using CNC machining, offering superior anti-resonance and shielding capabilities compared to conventional, jointed enclosures. Finished with a refined sandblasted surface, it boasts an elegant texture and a striking design that leaves a lasting impression.
Battery-Driven, Precise Power Supply, and Electrical Interference Isolation
Powered by a high-voltage battery pack made up of six Sanyo NCR18650 cells in series, this system ensures stable and pure sound output in various environments such as offices, dorm rooms, living rooms, and bedrooms. With an impressive 88Wh battery capacity, it also guarantees up to 24 hours of continuous playback.
Each high-voltage battery pack is meticulously balanced, ensuring that the voltage and internal resistance of each cell are matched, with the resistance difference between the six cells kept under 1 milliohm.
Powerful Materials for Superior Sound and Control
The design incorporates eight Nichicon KZ water-tank capacitors and high-performance wide-band buffers, paired with Vishay 0.1% 15ppm wafer resistors and 20 additional Nichicon KZ and ELNA Silmic2 capacitors. This carefully crafted voltage division and filtering module ensures a clean, precise, and stable power supply, while effectively eliminating switching noise issues from the battery-boosted power circuit.
High-Performance Panasonic Signal Relays
The long-lasting, high-performance Panasonic signal relays are employed for input and gain switching. Featuring gold-plated silver-palladium contacts, they offer rapid response and zero degradation in sound quality.
Polypropylene Metal Foil Oil-Immersed Capacitors
The coupling capacitors used in this design are MIFLEX polypropylene metal foil oil-immersed capacitors from Poland. In addition to the high-performance benefits of MKP capacitors, these provide outstanding tonal richness. Compared to standard WIMA MKP4/MKP10 capacitors, these capacitors deliver an exceptional 3D soundstage.
Neotech 7N OCC Silver Internal Wiring
For the MODEL 53, every signal path utilizes Neotech 7N OCC Silver internal wiring, chosen after an extensive tuning process that involved testing multiple wire types. These included 7N OCC copper from Neotech, CARDAS golden ratio copper, and GOTHAM LCOF long-crystal oxygen-free copper. While the cost of 7N OCC silver is significantly higher than other materials, its sonic performance ultimately led to its selection.
Quad-Channel Full-Balanced Circuit, Unmatched Power Drive for Incredible Performance
The MODEL 53 features a quad-channel full-balanced amplification circuit, where all voltage amplification sections are powered by high-spec Texas Instruments op-amps. Even under conditions where THD+N < 0.01%, the amplifier delivers an impressive 1200mW output at 64Ω load (battery-driven, balanced output). This immense power ensures that the MODEL 53 provides exceptional compatibility with all types of high-impedance over-ear headphones, from dynamic drivers to planar magnetic, with enough power to drive them with clarity and precision.
